ohlins rear shock 2008 ttx36 possiblity to use it for 2009?

Hello there

first of all im from qatar and our dealer here kawasaki offer me to buy an ohlins rear shock ttx36 for a zx6 2008 and my bike is zx6 2009 the mechanic said that he could modify it and set it to me ! but for me i just find it hard to believe if ohlins will do apart for 2008 why would they stop doing any part for 2009?

and if so does the rear shock of 2008 will match 2009?

i need an answer

please keep in mind we have arace at 2-3/october this weekand...
