Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo has had successful surgery for his left hand injury he suffered on Sunday morning when he crashed at the end of the warm-up session in Phillip Island. However his team announced that he wouldn't be able to race next weekend for the Shell Advance Malaysian GP.
