Once he had managed to close the gap at the front, Davies made one attempt to get the better of his team-mate, but then settled for the second place slot. "A 1-2 win for the team is an amazing result. This shows how strong the package is. With four laps to go I closed in on Luca and tried to get the nose in wherever I could but he was so consistently strong everywhere that it was difficult to pin him at any one point. I had a stab at passing him on the last lap but didn't succeed. I envisioned two blue bikes on the ground and that's certainly not what we wanted. I want to thank Yamaha and all my team who have worked very hard to make up for the disappointing race in Phillip Island. " The next round at Assen, scheduled for April 17, will be a good opportunity for Davies to aim for the win. Last year in fact, with the same team but on a Triumph Daytona 675, he finished fourth overall. Source: World Superbike
