At 16 years of age Austin, from Northridge in California will not only be one of the youngest competitors in the World Superbike paddock but also the lone American in competition. "After the test in November I really felt I got along with the team well," said Austin. "Their bike was so well set up and the team is top notch all the way, but I knew moving to Europe and racing over there would be very difficult to make happen. Somehow though the team really pushed and helped my family and I put it all together. I am very excited about my future both with the team and within the Superbike paddock. It's the world championship and so many riders have come up through their ranks that I really look up too. It's all happened so fast though that my head is still sort of spinning, as we just got all the contracts signed in the last few weeks. We still need to secure a few more sponsors before seasons end, sell off my bike and trailer here in the states but I am packing my bags and leaving for Rome!", said Austin. Austin will be supported with rider coaching in Europe by his long time coach Keith Code and members of the California Superbike School. "Knowing I have good friends like Keith there to support me and other riders he has worked with for so many years in the paddock like Leon Camier, I feel ready for this challenge" said Austin.
