Chaz Davies (Yamaha ParkinGO) stays on top of the Supersport World Championship standings after Brno, the seventh round of the season, despite a series of problems that threatened to ruin his weekend. The British rider finished third in the race, all things considered a good result after the set-up difficulties encountered by both him and his team-mate Luca Scassa on Friday and Saturday.
Starting from seventh on the grid, the tall Welshman moved up to third, right behind eventual runner-up, Frenchman Fabien Foret (HANNspree Honda Ten Kate) at the end. Robbin Harm's problem two laps from the end brought out the red flags early and meant that Davies had to settle for the final podium slot.

"I was doing well in the final stages, I had a fast pace considering the temperature," declared Davies. "I was battling with my conscience towards the last few laps. I wasn't sure if I should push for a second or a win or just settle with third. In the end I didn't have a choice but I'm happy with a podium and 16 points is not so bad considering the tough weekend we've had."
