Used to dealing with balance, coordination and sheer courage in their normal everyday jobs, Carlos Checa, Leon Haslam, Michel Fabrizio, Jonathan Rea, Joan Lascorz, Marco Melandri and Leon Camier enjoyed themselves immensely on a specially-constructed climbing frame, used for a promotional event for the very first time, at the entrance to the German circuit. This fun prologue to the tenth round of the championship saw the riders set off on an exploratory run through nets, walkways, balance beams, climbing pegs and frames for the benefit of the photographers and journalists present before being unable to resist the temptation to do a second run, this time against the clock and each other! Just for the record the winner was BMW's Leon Haslam who set a new ‘lap record' of the Nurburgring in front of the anxious gaze of his wife Oli. Source: World Superbike
