It took Carlos Checa (Althea Racing Ducati) some time to get on terms with the long time leader Sylvain Guintoli (Effenbert Liberty Racing Ducati) but he made a final pass that delivered him his 15th win of the year with only a couple of laps go.
Third went to Tissot-Superpole winner Jonathan Rea (Castrol Honda), while a remarkable comeback from 17th on the grid meant that Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia) overhauled the ever-improving Joan Lascorz (Kawasaki Racing Team) to take fourth place after 22-laps of pure effort. Marco Melandri (Yamaha World Superbike Team) faded in the later stages to go sixth, while a brilliant ride from privateer Maxime Berger (Supersonic Ducati) put him seventh.
