After already confirming Sylvain Guintoli and Jakub Smrz for the 2012 season, the Effenbert-Liberty Racing team has now decided to boost its investment in the championship by focusing on a development program for young riders. The first piece added to the picture is the promising young Frenchman Maxime Berger, twice runner-up in the FIM Cup Superstock 1000 and who made his debut in WSBK last year on a Team Supersonic Ducati 1098.

Berger was invited to test the bike in October at Portimao, and he managed to set some good times showing he could be one of the protagonists next season.

"I am honored by the confidence that the Effenbert-Liberty Racing Team has given to me within their highly professional structure. I know I can count on the all team, with whom I had the pleasure of participating in a private test on the Tuesday following the races in Portimao. They can count on my professionalism, my motivation and the desire to honor my commitment to carry the colours as high as possible. My second season on a Ducati Superbike will be for me the opportunity to fully take advantage of the bike qualities and I have no doubts that the work that we will be undertaking will soon bring its results."
